Yosemite BaseCamp

Yosemite’s BaseCamp (formerly known as Curry Village), is an 18,000 SF building from 1950s. Serving as one of the main food attractions in the park since its inception, BaseCamp had become weathered over the years and was in dire need of a face lift. The original structure was remodeled in a way that respected its mid-century roots, and incorporated subtle modern touches. Sustainability played an important role as well; elements such as locally sourced reclaimed redwood, carpet and wall tiles with recycled content, and furniture constructed of salvaged park wood were all woven together to create a cohesive experience.
